Building Your Drone Business In 2021

We're finally launching the Post Part 107 class here at AZ Drone. This class has been created for new Drone Pilots who have obtained their Part 107 Certification, and are now trying to figure out how to build their drone businesses. There's more to this business than flying around, snapping images & video, and passing the results directly to your clients.

Building your Drone Business requires decent computer platforms, photo and video editing software, modeling software, and more. We'll be talking about all of that in this course.

Take a look at the intro video below, and I believe you'll be able to determine whether or not this class will have value for you!

Welcome To The Post Part 107 Course Series

The FAA's Part 107 Exam is only the first step in building your commercial drone business. Passing the test means you can do commercial drone work for pay. And honestly, the test doesn't prepare you at all when it comes to business building. You've proven you can learn about the topics the FAA feels you need to know....but now comes the real learning curve.

Now that you're a commercial drone operator you have a lot of options. Real Estate photography & video, Agricultural surveys, Building inspections, Aerial videographer, Construction inspections, Time lapse work, and so much more. You'll also need to know a lot about the drones you choose to utilize, and all the hardware and software you'll need in your chosen aerial niche.

Post Part 107 - Building Your Drone Business

In this lecture series we'll be talking about what comes next after passing your Part 107 Exam

The Part 107 exam covers many topics about UAS operations. Pilots learn about airspace, weather, maps and charts, and more. Those who have passed the exam are now ready to begin their commercial drone operation....or are they?

Building you drone business takes more than just passing a test. And in this series of talks we'll be looking at how to help you begin building your drone business.

Every Business Startup Requires Some Investment

Passing the Part 107 means you've learned what the FAA wants you to know about UAV flight. It's like getting a driver's license. You know the rules of the road, and you're allowed to pilot your UAV, but what are you going to do with it? Become an Uber driver? Just enjoy driving around? Your true learning curve starts now if you want to enter the world of commercial drone use.

In this class series we'll be talking about the additional equipment you'll need to build a successful drone business. Of course a drone will be needed, but what else will you need to deliver quality drone flight products to your clients? In this series of talks we'll cover some of what you'll need to get up and running.

What can students expect to see in this series?

  • An honest talk about the basic software and hardware you'll need.
  • An honest talk about the intial expenses for your drone business.
  • Reminders that additional expenses need to be considered as well. Things like insurance, rent, work vehicles, payroll, training....they're all part of your small business.
  • Building your presence online.
  • Getting your business found online.
  • Making sure you have the right tools for the job.
  • Necessary software for editing video and still images.
  • Video production software
  • Software for developing 2D & 3D Models.
  • Mobile applications for autonomous drone flight.
  • Example jobs we've done for our clients, focusing in on the tools we needed to complete those jobs.
  • Picking the types of services you want to offer to your customer base.

Over time we'll be expanding this series of drone small business talks. So students can expect to see this particular class grow over time. This "over view" of building your drone business will also refer to additional courses found here as well when you need to get into more detailed explanations.

Additionally, students are welcome to comment on this series, and suggest additional topics that fit under the broad umbrella of building your drone business.
